What We Believe at RCC

+ One God

There is One God eternally existing as one essence and three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, each of whom is fully God unified in One Godhead. He created everything from nothing and sustains everything through His All Powerful, omniscient, Sovereign design.

Genesis 1:1; 1:26–27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Isaiah 40:28–29; Matthew 28:19; John 14:7-16; 2 Corinthians 13:14

+ Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is God's Only Begotten Son. He was born of a virgin as both God and man, lived a sinless life, was Crucified, died on a cross to atone for the sins of humanity, was buried, arose from the grave, ascended into heaven, and will literally return to earth.

Matthew 1:22–23; Isaiah 9:6; 53:5–6; John 1:1–5; 14:10–30; Hebrews 4:14–15; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Romans 1:3–4; Acts 1:9–11; 1 Timothy 6:14–15

+ The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth, divine helper, counselor and instructor. His work is to reveal Christ, convict of sin, lead to repentance, be a guide to believers, comfort, strengthen, remind us of Christ’s words, speak the words of the Father and sanctify the soul of the believer.

2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7–13; 14:16–17,26; John 15:26; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12; 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; 5:25; Galatians 5:25

+ The Bible

We believe that all Scripture comes from God; that it is without error and is totally reliable. The Bible has One Author (God), delivered through dozens of writers inspired by the Holy Spirit, discerns the thoughts / intents of the readers heart and is the final authority in the life of the believer.

Psalm 119:105; Romans 15:4; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:20–21; 2 Timothy 3:16

+ Man & The Fall

We believe that ALL humanity is created in the image of God and possesses intrinsic dignity and worth. Human beings are the special creations of God, made in His image. They fell through the sin of the first man, Adam, and all human beings are sinners in need of salvation. God called man back to Himself through Christ after the rebellion and fall of man.

Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3–6; Isaiah 53:6; 59:1–2; Romans 3:23

+ Sin

We believe that sin has fractured all things, leaving the world in desperate need of salvation.

Romans 3:23, 1 John 1:7-9

+ Salvation

We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. The Word of God declares clearly that salvation is a free gift of God, based on the merits of the death of His Son, and is appropriated by faith. Salvation is effected by personal repentance, belief in the Lord Jesus (justification), and personal acceptance of Him into one’s life as Lord and Savior (regeneration) & public confession. The new life in Christ includes the privileges of adoption and inheritance in the kingdom of God’s beloved Son.

John 3:16-17, Acts 2:21, Acts 4:12, Ephesians 2:8-9

+ Access to God

Each believer has direct access to God through the Lord Jesus Christ

Hebrews 4:14–16; 7:19; Ephesians 3:12

+ The Church

The Church consists of all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Head. The Local Church is a local body of believers who join together for the purpose of living together in loving fellowship with other believers, serving each other through their spiritual gifts and working to fulfill the Great Commission.

Matthew 16:18; Acts 20:27–29; 1 Corinthians 12:27–29; Ephesians 1:21–23; Colossians 1:17–19

+ Church Membership

When an individual is saved, he/she becomes a member of the body of Christ. Because of this, the individual is qualified to become a member of a local expression of that body. To become a member of a church is to formally commit oneself to an identifiable, local body of believers who have joined together for specific, divinely ordained purposes.

1 Corinthians 12:13

+ Eschatology

We affirm the bodily, personal, second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the saints, the millennium, and the final judgment. The final judgment will determine the eternal status of both the saints and the unbelievers, determined by their relationship to Jesus Christ. We affirm with the Bible the final state of the new heavens and the new earth.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Revelation 20:1-6
